Creme de la Creme Cocktail Reception

This year is going to be the best yet for Just Fresh Concepts.  Of course there is so much work to do still and a few details that I need to cover, but I am thrilled with our decision to start on decor.  It is so important to me to provide not only exceptional service but quality products.  I will be collecting some of my favorite decor items and the rest will be strictly custom designed.  I have two months to go before the new addition to our family arrives and hope to have my inventory updated in full by then.  We currently carry vases, gorgeous crystal candelabras, candle holders, a back drop, an arch, easel as well as a few more decor items.  Also soon we will be providing some neutral tones for chair covers and table cloths and the rest will be completely customized.  I may also have some charger plates in stock, other items will also be purchased by demand.

I wanted to share a few photos we took from the VIP cocktail party at the Creme de la Creme wedding show back in November where I had the privilege of meeting one of my greatest inspirations Preston Bailey.  He was originally expected to stay for the full weekend but had to fly out early to India to oversee one of his very large scale events.  Preston’s blogs had helped me push myself harder and get passed the tough days that I wasn’t sure I could (my very supportive husband had a lot to do with this as well).  His work is breathtaking and I adore the passion he has for flowers and design.  I was also happy to learn that he was very down to earth and had a great humorous personality.  I am honored to have met him and even more excited to have received an invite to meet him for lunch or coffee at his office in New York…. I suppose he must have noticed how star struck I was.  For the next year or so I’ll be somewhat “tied down” here with a new baby but one day soon I would love to see New York and get some one on one pointers from Preston.

West Coast Wedding

I wanted to share a few photos I received from Jennifer Dodd Photography of a West Coast wedding I designed the flowers for.  The wedding was on Sechelt at the West Coast Wilderness Lodge.  The Venue was so beautiful and peaceful.  You had a beautiful view on the patio at the ceremony site  of the ocean and the nearby islands.  And best of all the bride and groom had the venue with their friends and family for the entire weekend.  What a great place to relax with your family and then celebrate one of the most memorable nights of your life.

Elegant Pinks and Champagnes

My first wedding this year used some of my favorite colours.  I was really looking forward to putting these flowers together.  I knew exactly the vision that we were going for and was so eager to get started.  For the ceremony I designed four large arrangements of equivalent sizes in different rustic urns.  I used a combination of pink and cream roses, garden roses, lisianthus, stock, and spray roses.  The arrangements were then moved to the reception and stood on either end of the head table.  I find that the head table is where more of the focus on flowers should be made.  This is after all the focal point of the room where most of the pictures will be taken and where the bride and groom sit for a majority of the night.  How nice it must have been for this lovely couple to be surrounded by so many flowers on their wedding day.

The centerpieces were designed using my tallest fluted vases.  They created symmetry in the room and tied in perfectly with the head table.  It was one of my favorite looks and what a great way to kick of the new year.  I’m looking forward to the many weddings coming up this year.  I can’t wait to reveal some new designs and a fresh look for Just Fresh Concepts.

Rich Creams and Candlelight

I enjoyed every moment of this wedding.  It was designed for a truly amazing bride and groom who have a very sophisticated sense of style.  The bride saw a vision of cream roses for her wedding with willow centerpieces.  Her bouquet however was deep red flowers.  Throughout her wedding I used a combination of cream roses, garden roses and ranunculus.  I added some texture to the designs to give it a softer look and added gems to the branches and candlelight everywhere.  I used my newest tall fluted vases and my brand new stunning crystal candelabras.  The candelabras were placed only on the head table to really make it the focal point in the room.  And as guests entered the venue they were greeted by the bride and the groom near the fireplace that was decorated with more roses.  It was a beautiful setup and the bride was gorgeous!  I can’t wait to see some professional shots.  Congratulations Jasi and Johnny!  Lots of loves, I wish you all the best.  Can’t wait to celebrate your endless anniversaries to come.

Winter 2011 Weddings

I have been waiting for my new blog to post my latest winter weddings and am glad that there’s still snow on the ground to keep with the winter spirits while I post these pictures.  One of the winter weddings this season that really stands out to me is Candis and Ryan’s.  It was spectacular.  I went with an idea that the bride and groom had and expanded it to truly fit their vision.  I used a lot of red flowers in deep and lighter shades.  Flowers included rich black bacarra roses, red mums, garden roses, ranunculus and red amaryllis.  The branches were designed to look like they had been snowed on and the base of the vase was lit up to truly showcase the table arrangements.  The ceremony tree arrangements were covered in snow, I layered them with crystals and hung candles where they were needed.  It was so beautiful… I only wish i could have stayed for the party.
